Chuje muje dzikie węże

This is a strange one, mainly because it contains a completely non-existent word made up just to fit the rhyme. As a consequence, you really must have heard it a couple times in various contexts to understand its meaning and tonality.

The bogus word is “muje” which sounds like nominative plural from “muj” – which does not exist. The whole set phrase sounds more or less like “pricks, schmicks, wild snakes” and mostly stands for a set of amazing product features or promises that you personally have doubts about. It can also be used as a simple replace for the word “bullshit” (told by a politician or a con-man) or a mixture of random things that don’t make any sense.

The word “chuj” is obviously vulgar, so you won’t hear the expression in official speeches. It is a quite recent addition to Polish (I would say ten, maybe fifteen years) and used mostly by people below thirty. It would be really interesting to learn who and in what context used it for the first time.

Instalacje jak w kamperach… chuje muje dzikie węże. A w finalnie najprostsze rozwiązania okazują się najlepsze. Przenośna kabina prysznicowa + ciśnieniowy prysznic z decathlona i czajnik wrzątku. Ja mam wariant lekko rozszerzony – wojskowy worek na wodę umieszczony na masce.

Przy tej okazji dowiedziałam się, że w Górze są jakieś roboty drogowe, objazdy, chuje muje dzikie węże. Oficjalna droga zastępcza pokazywała się przez nie wiadomo jakie wiochy, a przecież od razu widać, że da się krócej przez miasto.

  1. If I remember correctly this phrase was already used in late 90s, but not commonly. Also I think the bogus word “muje” is not a prular for non-existent “muj”. For me the whole idiom is a plural version of “chuj mój dziki wąż” (i.e. “my dick is a wild snake”) with a bit of spelling and grammar mistakes so that it sounds better.
