Meaning:
Lit. “a coke” – the one used for industrial production of steel, not the one you buy in a red aluminium can. Funnily enough, “koks” in Polish can refer to cocaine, same “coke” as in English.
But that’s not what this this post is about. The word “koks” is also used to describe people. Usually males with a well-above-average muscle mass. Those spending their time at the gym, ingesting multiples substances stimulating muscle growth.
The term usually has a negative overtone. It not only means the guy is wide as a wardrobe but also that his intellectual capacity is limited to pressing and pulling – which might be a consequence of drug use. If use it to address such a person, you might be dispatched to hospital.
The origin lies in the noun “koks” used for any type of drug, not just cocaine. Which includes steroids used by bodybuilders. Hence a “koks” is also a person using them and the action is covered by the verb “koksować”.
Examples:
Nawet największy koks na siłowni wiele lat temu nie wiedział, jak trzymać hantle w ręku. Zawsze, kiedy robimy coś po raz pierwszy jest to dla nas stresujące, tak samo z treningiem na siłowni.
Koksy, pomuszcie. Chciałabym rozpocząć przygodę z siłownią. Nie chcę chudnąć, bo wagę mam dobrą, bliżej do niedowagi. Zależy mi na zbudowaniu fajnej sylwetki, oczywiście tyłek przede wszystkim ( ͡°͜ʖ͡°).
