Meaning:
Lit. “the last bell” is a final warning or an ultimate reminder to take care of something that won’t be possible later. What is usually meant is: do this now or regret later.
In Polish, this does not seem to have a lot to do with school bell. Rather, with bells calling for action in some other areas. For instance: church bells reminding you it’s time for a prayer. Or alarm bells warning that you need to run away from danger.

To ostatni dzwonek, by złożyć wniosek o 800 plus i otrzymać świadczenie za cały nowy okres wypłat, czyli od czerwca do maja przyszłego roku.
31-latek zdawał sobie sprawę, że dla niego to ostatni dzwonek na zaistnienie w rugby na najwyższym poziomie, ale prędko zmienił nastawienie.
Na ostatniej wizycie lekarz powiedział mi, że to ostatni dzwonek na rozpoczęcie leczenia.
