Meaning:
Lit. “we’ll live on and see”. Which is how you react to a prediction you are not fully convinced of. Or one you are sure will not come true, but also do not want to categorically laugh off the other person talking about it.
Used often to voice scepticism towards great promises made by another person, your employer or your government. By using this expression you are telling the others that you at least find it possible that the these promises are blatant lies. “Time will tell” – or Polish “czas pokaże” are its synonyms.
