Meaning:
Lit. “to give oneself hay” which means to give up some effort which is not worth it. To let something go, forget it and not care about it any more.
The origin of the expression supposedly lies in animals like horses and cows relaxing after getting some hay. Hence: give yourself some hay to be easier about something you were really into before.
This idiom is not part of literary Polish, it is still mostly spoken and low-register, popular especially with younger people. There might be even some Poles not really understanding what is meant by it.

Jak będziesz słuchał innych tego co jest dobre i co jest złe a nie siebie samego, to daj sobie siana z filozofią. Filozofia polega na przekraczaniu granic psychicznych. Po ich przekroczeniu jesteś już sam i nikt Ci nie pomoże z tym co masz pomyśleć a czego nie. Ufaj tylko sobie, inni spróbują zrobić z ciebie swojego psychicznego klona.
Podróż minęła bezszmerowo. Tylko wsiadający w Brzegu mieli drobne kłopoty z dostaniem się do wózka z uwagi na chęć kontrolowania setki fanów Śląska przez mundurowych. Ostatecznie bractwo się porozbiegało, a mundurowi dali sobie siana.
