Meaning:
Lit. “bobbles” – an intentional corruption of the “bąbelki” – “bubbles”. The original word used to be a friendly way to talk about kids, but turned to be a sarcastic way to address the little spoiled parasites who don’t take “no” for an answer and terrorize their parents (as well as any other people around).
Now most mothers and fathers use the word ironically, especially to point that it’s neither easy nor cheap to raise a new family member. Whoever uses the word unironically may be taken for a helicopter mom totally consumed by her maternity (a “madka” in Polish slang) – or an idiot.
Examples:
“Bombelek” może wszystko. Bezmyślność rodziców to niestety przekleństwo ratowników, którzy z tego powodu mają pełne ręce roboty. Strzegąc bezpieczeństwa na plaży, nie są oni w stanie upilnować dzieci biegających samopas.
Przyszedł PiS, pieniądze z Unii ukradł, ale „bynajmniej na bombelki dały„… Dziura została.
Madka z bombelkiem nie będzie czekała na przystanek. Kierowca ma się zatrzymać tam, gdzie ona sobie życzy. I to natychmiast!
