Meaning:
Lit: “out of the asshole/from the asshole”. This colloquialism came to prominence ten or fifteen years ago and is used to denote ideas or actions that are completely out of place and useless. It is often combined with the noun “pomysł” (an idea).
You employ this expression to strongly oppose what others brought up during a discussion and point that it makes no sense in current circumstances and that you are actually surprised/startled by someone even mentioning it.
Upon hearing it, your interlocutor might feel offended unless you are close friends and speak frankly about what you think. Moreover, the word “dupa” itself is considered vulgar, so don’t use it on formal occasions. “Z czapy” is a non-vulgar but still colloquial alternative.
Examples:
Ciekawostki z dupy. Ten post jest dla osób, które chcą się podzielić losową ciekawostką albo paroma. Ode mnie takie raczej technologiczne: Bluetooth pochodzi od Haralda Sinozębego, który był królem duńskim, który zjednoczył sobie plemiona Danii i Norwegii, tak jak BT “jednoczy urządzenia”.
Problem w tym, że większość wątków, które dodawali w późniejszych seriach albo nudna, lub zupełnie z dupy wzięta. Np. proces prezydenta oskarżonego o zbrodnie i kolaborację – materiał na ciekawy odcinek w dowolnym serialu.
Moim zdaniem wjebywanie się w Kubernetes dla kilkunastu/kilkudziesięciu aplikacji to pomysł z dupy. Taką skalę bez problemu ogarniasz jakimkolwiek toolem do automatyzacji.
